Property Plant Equipment

Property, Plant and Equipment are assets of a long lasting nature that are used in the normal operation of the company.  The most common types of property, plant and equipment are land, buildings, and machinery.

Plant, property and equipment appear as an asset in the balance sheet of a company.  When appearing on the balance sheet, the basis for valuing plant, property and equipment should be shown including any accumulated depreciation.
