Operating Lease

An Operating Lease is one of several lease arrangements that a company can enter into.  An operating lease allows the lessee the use of property for an assigned period of time; however, the accounting for the lease accrues on a daily basis.  The rent of an operating lease is treated as an expense of a company.

Assets and liabilities are not adjusted for the property used under an operating lease.
