Income Statement

The Income Statement is perhaps the single most important financial statement for investors.  Net income is an important measure on the income statement because this value tells investors, and creditors, how well the company is doing financially.  Alternative titles for the income statement include:

• Earnings Statement
• Statement of Operations

The income statement is used by investors to evaluate the performance of a company by aligning the revenues and expenses for a given period of time.
