Corporate Culture is a term that is used to describe the traditions and customs that exist in a company. When examining the effectiveness of a company's management team, outsiders often look at the corporate culture for clues.
For example, as the corporate leaders translate the company's strategy and mission to employees they will attempt to outline examples of how they believe things should be accomplished in the company. For a company that is trying to develop new an innovative product, the corporate culture should be one that is aligned and conducive to achieving that objective. The corporate culture may involve attributes that range from actions or behaviors of employees in the workplace through their outward appearance or dress code.
At one time the corporate culture of IBM (blue suits) stood in stark contrast to that at Microsoft (tee shirts and sneakers).
