If you're looking for resume help we've got some good news - we've got a lot of good information that can help you with your resume. In fact, we've been assembling information on resume writing for over four years now.
Summarizing our Resume Help
So it's about time to summarize all of the help we can provide you with when it comes to resumes. In fact, we've got over 50 articles that cover the basics of resume writing and cover letters. Over the next several paragraphs we are going to explain the specific help we can offer and the links on our website to that information.
Help Choosing the Type of Resume
This first series of articles can help you choose the best resume format to use based on your prior work experience and job hunting strategy:
- Functional Resume - this kind of resume emphasizes your work experience and the skills you have acquired over your career. It's a good format for those that don't have a lot of experience or have timeline gaps in their careers that they'd rather not highlight.
- Chronological Resume - this is the format that most of us grew up on. It lists your work history in reverse chronological order. If you have a lot of experience and your career progression makes a lot of sense, this is a good format to use.
- Combination Resume - this takes the best attributes from both of the above two types of resumes and puts it all together in one place. The combination resume is a two part resume where part one is a functional format and part two is a chronological listing. This is probably the most marketable resume you can use.
That last sentence is an important one because you should view your resume as a marketing tool for your skills. The full articles each go into more detail on the pros and cons of each resume style and that should help you decide which resume to choose based on your individual career situation.

A lot of us need help getting started writing our resumes; sometimes it is referred to as writer's block. If you've been having trouble getting started writing your resume we think we can help there too because we've put together a series of articles that can help get you writing quickly:
